Brian Noble

Beyond Unity Business Partner

Brian Noble, an English rugby legend, is a BU business partner and part of its global fellowship. Brian is currently an English rugby league coach following his distinguished career as a rugby league footballer. Noble was a Great Britain representative hooker, but is best known for his coaching career, during which he coached the Bradford Bulls, the Wigan Warriors, the Crusaders RL and the Salford Red Devils in the Super League, and the Great Britain national team.

He was the first coach to win three Super League Grand Finals, and is one of only two coaches to have achieved that feat along with Brian McDermott. He was formerly the Director of Rugby for the Toronto Wolfpack, and also works as a pundit for BBC Sport.

Within the game Brian’s outstanding achievements include;

• Played over 400 games at the highest levels of Rugby league for Bradford Northern, Wakefield Trinity and for the Australian Club, Cronulla Sharks
• Represented Great Britain at every level from under 19’s, under 24’s and full international including in 1984 becoming the youngest ever tour captain leading Great Britain on a 13 week tour to Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea
• Still one of only a handful of people in 125 year history of game to play, captain and coach Great Britain
• Becoming the most successful British coach in Super League history. These exploits include at Bradford Bulls (5 grand finals, 3 wins, 2 losses, 3 World Club Challenge wins, 1 challenge cup win and 2 challenge cup final losses). His record also includes a unique Middlesex 7s win competing against the leading Rugby Union Clubs.
